The Future Lexus Puts Other Luxury Car Brands in the Past
The Future Lexus Puts Other Luxury Car Brands in the Past

Lexus is ready to bring the future of cars into existence.  The new style and inside of the LF-A Roadster defnitely let the owner know the future of autmobiles is upon us.  Its low-profile, sleek, aerodynamic shape is fashioned from lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum and features a speed adaptive rear wing. And like the coupe, the LF-A Roadster is powered by a high-revving V10 engine capable of over 500 horsepower, which can reach an astonishing top speed of over 200 mph…on whatever street you feel the need for speed.  However, before you start salivating over the car of tomorrow…it is not scheduled for release until 2012.   However, if you cannot wait and need your car fix sooner; bids for receiving the luxury item early start at 1.5 million!!!   Yikes!!!!!

NEW FABERGE EGG

After a hiatus of nearly a century the legendary firm Faberge, which made the eponymous eggs and many other elaborate knick-knacks for Russian royalty, was going back into business. The original firm went out of business following the Russian revolution in 1917 but its surviving bric-a-brac is highly sought-after—and even more highly paid for—by collectors. The original Faberge eggs were given as Christmas presents by members of the Tsar’s family.
The name had been owned until last year by Unilever (UN) and was purchased by London-based private equity firm, Pallinghurst Resources, which is reportedly in contact with descendents of the Faberge family.
The question, of course, is whether modern craftsmen have the skill to reproduce eggs of the same quality as the original. If so, it is likely that they would be very popular with Russia’s newly wealthy who are notoriously passionate about collecting “Russian” art.

In 2004 Russian energy billionaire Victor Vekselberg bough the famous Forbes collection of nine Faberge eggs, at that time the largest in the world, for an undisclosed amount but which was rumored to be between $80 million and $120 million

BRIDGE SUITE

Located on the appropriately-named Paradise Island, and owned by South-African entrepreneur Sol Kerzner — the man behind Sun City — the $450 million, 600-acre resort is a wonderland of sumptuous, over-the-top hedonism, with the Bridge Suite the jewel in its crown.So-called because it occupies a bridge between the resort’s two main buildings — the 23-story Royal Towers — the suite is not only the most extravagantly luxurious of its kind in the world, but also, at $25,000 per night, by some distance the most expensive.
Guests, not surprisingly, tend to be limited to the ranks of the world’s super-rich. Michael Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Celine Dion and Michael Jordan have all stayed in the suite, as have Bill Gates and Donald Trump, although it is most frequently occupied either by Saudi sheikhs or high-rolling businessmen in town to try their luck at the resort’s casino, the largest in the Caribbean.
As you would expect for $25,000 per night, The Bridge provides its guests with an unrivalled degree of designer luxury and customer care.
Decorated in extravagant shades of red, gold and black, and with enough gilt fittings to fill a small palace, its 12 ft (3.6 meter) high floor-to-ceiling windows offer breath-taking views over the Atlantis-themed resort below and out across the Caribbean.
The living room has its own grand piano and two entertainment centres. Its 10 rooms include a 50 x 25 ft (15 x 7.6 meter) living room, complete with grand piano, two entertainment centers and an 800 square foot (244 square meter) balcony; a dining room with a 22-karat gold chandelier and custom-designed 10-seater table; and a kitchen with its own private entrance so the suite’s seven dedicated staff — including butlers, cooks and maids — can come and go without disturbing its guests.

The King Bedroom boasts his-and-her marble bathrooms, a four posted bed covered in hand-painted linens, a private lounge and a walk-in dressing area. The Queen bedroom, although smaller, is no less spectacular, with custom-made draperies and carpets, designer furniture and wardrobes that, according to one journalist, are so big “you could drive a car into them.”

Given its size and magnificence those who rent the suite could be forgiven for not actually stepping outside it for the duration of their stay.

Should they wish to do so, however, they have all the resort’s other facilities available to them as well, including 11 swimming pools, 35 restaurants, an 18-hole golf course and a patchwork of lagoons, waterslides, cascades and Mayan ruins designed to re-create the mythical lost continent of Atlantis.

TIRED OF TAKING THE SAME VACATIONS TO THE SAME PLACES?  HOW ABOUT A 1 MILLION DOLLAR VACATION AROUND THE WORLD!!!

A loose interpretation of Phileas Fogg’s famous journey around the world, this remake by The Leading Hotels of the World stars you and a guest traveling east on a private jet from London to New York.

Over the course of 28 days (not 80), you will visit Paris, Dubai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Udaipur, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Honolulu, San Francisco, and Chicago and stay in some of the world’s ultra-lux pads like the Prince’s Suite at the Rambagh Palace (pictured) in Jaipur.
But the hefty $1 million price tag affords a lot more than fancy sheets. Travelers can take a hot-air balloon ride over the Dubaidesert, have cocktails aboard the Taj yacht on the Arabian sea, drive through Udaipur in a vintage car, take a private tour of the Gem Palace in Jaipur, helicopter over Hong Kong and partake in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony in Tokyo.  SOOOOO, WHO’S READY TO TAKE ME ON A TRIP..LOL  IF ANYONE OUT THERE IN CYBERLAND HAS VISITED ANY OF THESE PLACES MENTIONED IN THE TRIP…I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR HOW IT WAS…AND WHEN I COME ACROSS A MILLION DOLLARS…I WILL REPORT ON THIS TRIP FIRSTHAND…STAY TUNED!!!

THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR KNOWN TO MAN IS BEING RELEASED IN 2009

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:  THE 2009 BUGATTI VEYRON 16.4 GRAND SPORT

On the night before the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Bugatti took over the awards ramp to show its latest creation. Given that dozens of vintage Bugattis have traveled across that ramp over the past 50 years, it seemed quite an appropriate location for the debut of the latest model from the French automaker, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport.

The regular Veyron 16.4 is quite exclusive in its own right – only 160 have been built, with deposits on 240 more — and the new Grand Sport will be built in even fewer numbers. Only 150 copies of the new roadster will be built, with the first 50 available only to current Bugatti customers.

The new Grand Sport is distinct in many ways, but the most noticeable addition — or perhaps subtraction — is the removable roof. The roof is made of a transparent polycarbonate and requires two people to remove. Once removed, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport becomes what Bugatti calls the fastest roadster in the world, with a top speed of around 225 mph. Put the top back and the Grand Sport will reach just over 250 mph.

These incredible stats are made possible by the Veyron’s 8-liter W16 engine, equipped with four turbo chargers that send 1,001 horsepower to all four wheels. With enormous amounts of torque, the Veyron Grand Sport can reach 62 mph (100 kph) in just 2.5 seconds.

One of the challenges the Bugatti engineers faced was keeping the Veyron rigid and lightweight with the removal of the roof. The monocoque structure has been reinforced around the side skirts and the transmission tunnel, with additional carbon fiber support for the B-pillars. The doors of the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport are made of carbon fiber as well and feature an integrated longitudinal beam. The two air intakes for the 16-cylinder engine feature wider carbon fiber elements to offer protection should the car roll.

Also unique to the Grand Sport is a rather special umbrella design for use if the driver is caught by unexpected rain. Inspired by a photo of an older Bugatti driving in the rain with the passenger holding a large umbrella, the Grand Sport comes with an umbrella that unfolds to fit the exact shape of the hard top. Even with the umbrella latched in place, the Grand Sport can still move at 85 mph.

All that performance and exclusivity comes at a high price. The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will be priced at 1.4 million euros (just over $2 million) when it becomes available next March. For that one buyer who needed to be first on the list, the right to the first Veyron Grand Sport was auctioned at the Pebble Beach Auction presented by Gooding & Company. With the amount over the asking price going to charity, the winning bid for the new Grand Sport was $3.19 million.

HATTERAS 56 MOTOR YACHT $1.7 MILLION

Hatteras Yachts announces the newest member of its fleet, a 56 Motor Yacht that incorporates original design concepts, a spacious interior and intuitive features that make this an ideal boat for the owner-operator. Priced at under $2 million, the 56 Motor Yacht represents a new entry-level product for the thousands of boat owners who aspire to own a Hatteras.
Boaters the world over appreciate the advanced design and robust construction that sets Hatteras apart from the fleet. Like all Hatteras models, the 56 features a solid-fiberglass hull bottom that includes beefy support for key areas such as the tunnels, shaft log and strut locations. Divinycell coring is infused into the hull sides, decks and superstructure to add stiffness and reduce weight. And the hull benefits from an advanced variable-deadrise design that utilizes large propeller tunnels to reduce draft and increase efficiency.
The 56 Motor Yacht features a pair of 705-hp Cummins QSM11s as standard equipment, installed in a V-drive configuration with the gearbox forward. This positions the engine room as far aft as possible and allows for more living space below. Combined with the boat’s 18-foot 2-inch beam, this configuration gives the 56MY as much interior volume as many yachts in the mid-60-foot range.
Powered by its standard engines, the 56 Motor Yacht is expected to achieve a cruising speed of 18 knots and top end of 21 knots. With her 900-gallon fuel capacity, that provides a usable range of approximately 300 nautical miles. Optional 1,000-hp CAT C18s will push the 56 to a cruise of 26 knots and a top end of 29 knots.
The 56MY features a three-stateroom, two-head arrangement that includes a 130-square-foot full-beam master stateroom amidship, a VIP stateroom forward, and guest bunks to port. An optional arrangement provides for a private crew quarters with discreet access, in lieu of the third guest stateroom.
Thanks to its impressive interior, innovative features and solid Hatteras-worthy construction, the 56 Motor Yacht stands ready to introduce a whole new group of boaters to the benefits of becoming a member of the Hatteras family. To learn more about the 56 Motor Yacht, contact an authorized Hatteras dealer today, or visit a Hatteras display at an upcoming boat show.

After reaching its goal of lending $1 billion to African American business owners by 2010 two years early, Wells Fargo & Co. has set a new goal of lending an additional $1 billion by 2018.

This will allow Wells Fargo to raise its cumulative lending to African American businesses to $2 billion over the next 10 years.

“Reaching our $1 billion goal two years early is a testament to the growth and entrepreneurial vision of this important segment of the U.S. economy,” says Brenda Ross-Dulan, senior vice president and national spokeswoman for Wells Fargo’s African American Business Services program.

Wells Fargo’s African American Business Services program has been in operation for the last 10 years. As part of the anniversary celebration, Wells Fargo will expand its relationship with the National Black MBA Association by sponsoring the association’s Entrepreneurial Institute.
